Here some short news so you don't lose the oversight how's currently heading which institution:
In another move to satisfy protestor's demands in order to prevent a mass turnout on Friday, last Thursday the military council removed prime minister Ahmed Shafiq and appointed Essam Sharaf instead.
The next day Sharaf went straight to Midan Tahrir to give there a short speech in front of the masses were he promised protesters to meet their demands as good as he can and – responding to the chants demanding the fall of State security – emphasized that state security should work for the good of the people, not against them. On Sunday morning (i.e. today) Sharaf appointed Mansour El Essawi new minister of interior.
So far the army council currently governing Egypt sticks to its plan of holding a national referendum over constitutional amendments on the 19th of March, while parliamentary elections are scheduled for June and presidential elections to be hold in September this year.
